Hi all. I am new here but I have been reading and following this site for a year since I chance upon Wallace.

Personally, I don't think he is doing this with any ulterior intention (or because of his studio or acting career) but rather expressing his own view when it comes to China. He is a person with strong principal and not the type who will say something to please the crowd or get into the good books of others. If you watch his interviews, you can see that he holds to his personal value and always stay true to himself. I think he is a very patriotic person and he truly see Taiwan somewhat as part of China (well, it is part of China less than a century ago), it's motherland. If you listen to his talk during the University visit, you can sense that.

I like Wallace - he is very, very different from others. I have never followed or like any singer or movie star but he is different and admirable.

Hi JWeihc :)

You might be right. Wallace turned out to be very conservative, even more so over the years. Calling it a smart move might express we are just h o p i n g it is like that. ... I guess we can never be sure about it, as is the case with many things and opinions from mainland China reaching us here in the west.

One thing I do know for sure is that Wallace is now losing even more fans from abroad by taking this stance, especially fans from the countries around the South China Sea.

Anyway, I'll stop talking about this, as I wouldn't wanna offend anyone around here. That would be totally contrary to the nature of this forum in the first place {**}

i remember an interview where he said after he moved to China, nobody gave him a chance, he worked hard to convince entertainment industry to give him something.
