Interview and Review of Wallace as Chiang Kai-Shek

Sharing some interview/reviews that i read here. (-'.'-)

So far, there's many praises for his role as Chiang Kai-Shek. They say although his scenes isn't a lot, he brings out the true essence of the character, and it's a very different side of Chiang Kai-Shek shown in this movie.

Quoting Wallace, he said in this movie, Chiang Kai-Shek shows his romantic side..

Btw, Wallace spend 3 days filming for this movie. When he first get a call from them inviting him to take on the role of Mr Chiang, he was surprised. According to them, only 20 minutes after they put down the phone, he called them back to say "Yes" (-'.'-)

That time he was in Ruyi busy filming. After getting the invitation, he tried to squeeze in time between Ruyi to film his scenes. Since it's only 3 days, he listen entirely to what Director instruction is on the site. In one of the interview, he said he really enjoy working with Director and hope in the future there will be chance to work with him again, of course, this time I have more scenes. [:-] [:-] [:-]

While choosing the artists for the various roles, the crew (Director and team) put few artists together beside the actual character to pick the most suitable one. As they reach the role of Chiang Kai-Shek, they have a problem. This is a character that doesn't have much scenes and only needed to be on site for 3 days to complete his part.. but the actor will need to shave his hair due to the need of the character. Who will be willing to shave his hair just for 3 days of filming... then they thought of Wallace. Hey, he's currently filming Qing drama and he has shaved his hair. Furthermore, he has that literary look on him that's extremely suitable as Chiang Kai-Shek. They give it a try and called him. ,-}

I love you because of who you are. Thank you for being yourself.

Thank you very much for sharing, Cassie.

So funny. He was bald at the right time. It was very nice of Ruyi producers to allow him time off to film this movie. Glad that he gave it a go. I read that Army hit 40million yuan on first day of release.

I'm not surprise it will be a great box office... if every actor has 10% of fans watching, it's enough to break any record =):-)

Anyway, this movie is targeted at young audiences, breaking the usual image of war movies - serious, somber, sad, depressing etc etc... all the main casts are young 'fresh meat' which gave the movie a very refreshing new approach and the audience seems to like this idea. Some movie critic at first were a little doubtful at the young casts but they all gave very good review after watching.

I love you because of who you are. Thank you for being yourself.

Right, bald at the right time. I'm also glad he agree to play the role, I think this role enable him to show a different performance to the movie critics. They seems impressed with him. I hope that through this role, he will get more offers that he can choose from. ((((( And he can prove to people that he can take up serious role too, not just Wuxia idol type. Y!*

I hope to be able to watch his part soon... can't can't can't wait! <:->
