This part of the story seems to follow the 1996 TVB version in which RYY was poisoned by DFBB, and the antidote was in DFBB's cosmetics. |

I thought Yu Zheng said that this adaptation was going to stick most to the original story out of all of the adaptations... |

Judging from the still photos released so far, it seems that this version will be an amalgam of previous adaptations: the wedding scene is from the 1996 TVB version, the DFBB - LHC fight from the video game, the DFBB liking LHC plot from the Tsui Hark movies, plus other elements added by Yu Zheng, such as the 'twin' LHC/YLT, fantasy martial arts, etc. Can't say that it will be very faithful to the novel. |

Maybe he just watched all of the previous adaptations and decided to copy elements that he thought were the most popular ones. I guess there's nothing wrong with that, as long as the whole story works. But if you're adding so much to the original story, then it can't be said that you're faithful to the novel. Anyway, I hope that it will be good. I'm very curious about Wallace's interpretation of LHC. Judging from what he said in the interviews, he seems to have a good grasp of the character. |

I kinda agreed with what Wallace said, we can't expect Linghu Chong a happy and optimistic person all the way after what he had experienced. |

Yes, it shows that he understands that there is progression in the character. I've seen other actors portrayed LHC throughout the story without any change and I think that's wrong. The actor has to be able to balance LHC's happy go lucky nature with the serious drama that happened to him, which is not easy. I hope that Wallace will rise to the challenge! |

It seems that Yu Zheng is quite ambitious by trying to put everything into this adaptation. This adaptation also has some magical elements as well. |

Yes, it seems that with all the additional elements, the series will need at least fifty episodes as the original story itself is already quite long. As for the magical elements, I hope that Yu Zheng is willing to spend a decent amount of money on the special effects so that those scenes will look good. |

The worst thing that can happen is for the CGI to look super fake... |

Yeah, that's the main thing that I'm worried about, especially if there are lots of magical elements in it. If they don't have the budget for it, maybe it's better to have good old fashioned martial arts choreography instead. |

I hope they are not overly excited about CGI, which is weakest in Asian dramas. I prefer something like Strange Hero, easy to the eyes and looks realistic. |

Yes, they used CGI to good effect in Strange Hero. I hope that they're doing something similar for this series. No lasers and excessive explosions/flying around. And hopefully, the crane will look like a crane..... |
