Wallace Huo Shines in Yahoo! ChatRoom
人氣偶像霍建華帥氣作客雅虎訪談 April 18, 2007, Yahoo!

Lisa: Hello everybody, welcome to the Yahoo Interview! The guest we have been looking forward to is now here!
Wallace: Hello everybody!
Lisa: You have so many fans here…. Do you talk to them a lot?
Wallace: Not often, but I will write about my thoughts once in a while.
Lisa: Some say that they are nervous about seeing you for the first time. You did not show up in public very often?
Wallace: That’s right.
Lisa: That means you need to keep your privacy?
Wallace: Sort of. I just don’t have a lot of chance to talk to them, because of my filming schedule.
Lisa: For example, at the promotion events for your new TV, a lot of people are shouting your names. Do you enjoy it, or feel embarrassed?
Wallace: It’s OK for me, this is part of my job, and I learn to accept things related to my job, especially now I am in this business for longer time.
Lisa: Anything?
Wallace: Not everything, but MOST of them.
Lisa: Is there anything you cannot take? Did you get angry recently?
Wallace: Not so far this year.
Lisa: It is just April now.
Wallace: Four months already. I think I have a pretty good temper. As I grow older, I learn to take it easy.
Lisa: Let’s talk about your new TV, Romance in Line. Besides Han Xue, there are…
Wallace: Christopher Lee from Singapore, and…
Lisa: And also Fann Wang?
Wallace: Not Fann Wang.
Lisa: Do you feel relaxed when you finish the filming?
Wallace: I was thinking about this when the filming was finished yesterday. I felt kind of lonely.
Lisa: Not a bit of joy?
Wallace: Not at all.
Lisa: So you are a workoholic.
Wallace: Not like that. There are a lot of emotions in the TV, while your real life is much flatter.
Lisa: You don’t like your life to be simple?
Wallace: I wish it to have some rise and falls, emotionally.
Lisa: Is Romance in Line an idol drama?
Wallace: It is a romance series.
Lisa: Is it stereotypical?
Wallace: I wouldn’t say so. Although you guys may. There is something different for me.
Lisa: What attracted you most in this series? Is it similar to Dolphin Bay?
Wallace: It is different. In this series I am a director and I have to teach my actors.
Lisa: Are you a very COOL director?
Wallace: A picky one.
Lisa: So you get pissed very often?
Wallace: A bit.
Lisa: Assume that you are a real director, what will your style be?
Wallace: Hmmm…. I will spend a lot of time communicating with my actors, and I will respect their ideas. I am an actor myself, and I really enjoy the communication, which is the most important thing for me. For example, we will discuss whether we say the lines in a more natural way. This is a lot of fun.
Lisa: So it inspires you to want to become a director?
Wallace: Step by step, I mean LEARNING to be.
Lisa: So you are serious about it?
Wallace: I don’t know, I will focus on acting right now, learning to work with different directors. But I will also try new things.
Lisa: Have you ever met directors who like to be on top of everything, from walking to saying the lines?
Wallace: No, I am lucky enough to have not met a single such director. Most of them respect my ideas and won’t insist on doing this or not doing that.
Lisa: So you have a lot of freedom?
Wallace: That’s right, as long as it is what this drama tries to say.
Lisa: And you have more freedom and become more creative as you make more TV?
Wallace: exactly.
Lisa: Were you like this when you made your first TV?
Wallace: No. Even I had some freedom, it was rare occasion. But I become bolder when I accumulate experience, unleashing myself for my work.
Lisa: Will you ever examine yourself on the performance?
Wallace: Always.
Lisa: In a general way, or…
Wallace: After I finish any scene, I will ask around to see how they feel about my acting, and a lot of actors do the same thing too.
Lisa: So you also feel lonely at that time?
Wallace: Yes, but it is too late! Being an actor….
Lisa: You always swing between excitement and loneliness.
Wallace: Exactly. I keep thinking about whether I should it the other way even when the filming is over.
Lisa: Will you have some prerequisites for your roles?
Wallace: No, but I will avoid repeating myself.
Lisa: How about the script? Will you turn down scripts that look similar to what you have done before?
Wallace: It depends. If the script is really good, then I can manage to make it look different, even the character looks similar. For example, I can make several different versions of an outrageous guy, a really shouting one, or a mentally wild one. I will try my best to make it different. So I like to observe and talk to people and see the minute nuances.
Lisa: I really love this Wallace, who is now sitting here and talking to me. We have seen you a lot in your dramas, but you tend to be melancholic and cool, and actually you are…
Wallace: Not blue, not cool at all.
Lisa: So why you always play a melancholic guy?
Wallace: Maybe because I look like that, Ha Ha!!
Lisa: Your fans are repeating our conversations, doing a live broadcasting for us, that’s great…. They are interested in your next TV. You just finish one, going to take a break?
Wallace: Yeah, try something different.
Lisa: I know that you had filmed two or three dramas at the same time in the past, which was devastating. Will you do the same thing again?
Wallace: Now I only make a new one after I finish the other.
Lisa: So you are able to turn down offers according to your will.
Wallace: Anybody can turn down something, it is never a problem.
Lisa: But will your agent stop you from doing that?
Wallace: Not at all. Let’s put it this way: Now I have to be responsible for everything that I make. When I just joined this business, I didn’t want to miss any chance. Now I would rather focus on just a few things, and make them to perfection.
Lisa: So you have calmed down now.
Wallace: That’s right.
Lisa: But how would you consider yourself meeting your own standard?
Wallace: There needs to be some improvement, be it a big one or a small one. My standard is to make progress in each drama.
Lisa: That’s what you have expected in those months of filming.
Wallace: Yes.
Lisa: They said that your next drama is a near modern one. When does the filming start?
Wallace: Around this June.
Lisa: What kind of background?
Wallace: Around 1910 – 1920, old Shanghai that kind of thing.
Lisa: Your fans are curious about your style in this new TV.
Wallace: I am not quite sure now, but there must be some big change.
Lisa: Is your haircut the one in Romance in Line?
Wallace: I have got that done already.
Lisa: So in your new drama it will still be this style?
Wallace: No….
Lisa: Is it confidential?
Wallace: Sort of.
Lisa: This haircut is something young girls will like. In Dolphin Bay you had longer hair, which one do you prefer, long or shorter?
Wallace: I like it short, making me look young.
Lisa: Which character do you like best?
Wallace: Hmmm…
Lisa: The one you think you did your job best. The recent ones.
Wallace: Recent ones…. I am not sure whether I did a good job, but this one, Emerald on the Roof, is quite impressive for me. The beauty of this role is that there are a lot of changes and different sides, from a boy to a man. In the story he used to be a very straightforward person, but I always thought that he is a more sophisticated one.
Lisa: Does this character like to play tricks?
Wallace: Not at all, he is just not naïve. I did it in my own way, and it is quite distinctive.
Lisa: How about the comedy you made with Miriam Yeung?
Wallace: That’s my first comedy and I never acted like that before. It was very exaggerating.
Lisa: Can you now switch to that character right now?
Wallace: Right now?
Lisa: For example, do a freaky grimace…
Wallace: That series was quite something to remember for me. I never did such a difficult TV. The weather was extremely hot at 35 degrees, and although it was a comedy, there were a lot of fight scenes.
Lisa: Fight scenes are no big deal for you; you had that in Tian Xia Di Yi.
Wallace: But I am not an action actor, and the weather was so hot. We worked from 6 AM to midnight, followed by an early morning shooting the next day. I don’t know how I could make it.
Lisa: You did the fight scenes yourself?
Wallace: Most, but not always. Sometimes the stunts did it.
Lisa: So you are a good fighter?
Wallace: Not at all.
Lisa: Will you feel reluctant to do the martial arts series? A lot of people think it to be too exhausting.
Wallace: That’s true, but you cannot have so many limitations. You got to take the challenge.
Lisa: I did some research on how people think about your characters in the TV. Some don’t like your role in Red Dust. They said that he was kind of nerdy and weak. Did you read their comments online?
Wallace: Not very often.
Lisa: And you have heard about such comments?
Wallace: Yes, I did.
Lisa: And what do you think?
Wallace: Li Jing is a pristine person, not a sophisticated one, and I want to show this side of him. I have no control over how people like it or not, and I don’t care that much. For me the point is to learn something when I create this character. Of course I will take advice and keep improving myself.
Lisa: Will you inform friends of your dramas and ask for their comments?
Wallace: No.
Lisa: How about your family?
Wallace: They just watch it. That’s it.
Lisa: They are too shy to say something?
Wallace: Perhaps.
Lisa: Will they give you some accolade?
Wallace: No. They just watch but never really say anything.
Lisa: Some fans ask is there any change in you after being in the entertainment for a few years?
Wallace: I learn to follow the natural ways and not to ask too much. Sometimes you screw it up when you have a strong desire to do it. Of course I still have my goals, but I pursue them in a more relaxed way.
Lisa: Although you say that, I still think your self-demand is very stringent.
Wallace: What makes you think that way?
Lisa: I just know it, you ask much on yourself. For example, when you get the script, will you try to make it a perfect role?
Wallace: A perfect role? There is no such thing.
Lisa: No?
Wallace: I wish all of my roles to be non-perfect.
Lisa: How about your performance?
Wallace: I will try to make my acting to perfection, but not my role.
Lisa: Because you don’t know how to act a perfect character?
Wallace: There are no perfect people in the real world, not you, not me. I won’t make my role perfect, because the drama has to reflect the real life one way or the other. Since there is no perfect person in life, there is no perfect role in drama.
Lisa: So you enjoy acting right now. How about making a new CD?
Wallace: I only sing KTV now!
Lisa: No plan for a new CD.
Wallace: Not at this time.
Lisa: But KTV is totally different from studio recording.
Wallace: Let me tell you for sure, KTV is much more fun. You can change the sound effects!
Lisa: Are you serious about singing in KTV? Or just sing for fun?
Wallace: Mostly for fun, but when we drink something and the time is right, I could sing seriously.
Lisa: So you go to KTV very often?
Wallace: Only once in a while, because my filming schedule is tight. It is more relaxing to just sing for fun. I am now focusing on the drama.
Lisa: So you really like acting, gradually becoming like this…
Wallace: Yes.
Lisa: When did you find you love acting, since which drama?
Wallace: Not specifically from a certain drama. I love acting when I find I am able to create something.
Lisa: Add your own creativity?
Wallace: I was not a drama school graduate and did not know much about acting in the beginning.
Lisa: So you didn’t have self-confidence because you were not a drama school graduate?
Wallace: Not like that. I don’t think I am pretty good or talented. However, I worked with a lot of outstanding actors in recent years, and I learned many things from them, style and theory in acting, for example. And also a lot of good directors. I begin to have my own ideas, and I start to enjoy it when I can add in my own stuff. I like it quite much, and you won’t become a creative actor until you have gone through a lot of it.
Lisa: You have a lot of good chemistry with these outstanding actors?
Wallace: Yes. When you have chemistry with your partners, you can forget about the fatigue during shooting.
Lisa: Whom did you have chemistry with?
Wallace: In acting?
Lisa: Of course.
Wallace: Many. I have met quite a few good actors.
Lisa: You lucky boy, look at this list! All your partners are the top-tier beauty actresses. Will this keep you away from them in the beginning?
Wallace: Not a problem, because I am a handsome guy, too. (laugh)
Lisa: It is usually you that say hello first when you see them for the first time?
Wallace: Usually not me.
Lisa: How about Han Xue in this drama?
Wallace: We don’t know each other very well.
Lisa: You don’t have a lot of scenes with her?
Wallace: A lot, but we don’t talk to each other often when not filming.
Lisa: But so many artists say they know their partners so well….
Wallace: I don’t really know her, I am not kidding. (laugh) I am not trying to know everybody. Some I share common interest with and we will become friends. Others are simply partners for work. It is different.
Lisa: How about working with Rosamund Kwan and ShuQi?
Wallace: They are all great and I learn a lot from them.
Lisa: Any particular one that you like to work with most?
Wallace: Pick just one? I am afraid to piss other people off. (laugh)
Lisa: No such thing. You just said you don’t know Han Xue well.
Wallace: That’s true. I don’t know all of them to details.
Lisa: Will you fall in love with your partners in the TV?
Wallace: Yes, immediately before the camera starts.
Lisa: Will you be able to pull it back when it is finished?
Wallace: It is not a problem for me.
Lisa: Is there anyone that you would like to stay with in the drama?
Wallace: No.
Lisa: Not even the sexy Shu Qi?
Wallace: (speechless) I don’t know what to say, what kind of question you are asking? (laugh) I admire her very much, she is a charming lady.
Lisa: Your fans ask whether you have a girlfriend right now.
Wallace: Who ask that? (looking eagerly on the computer…) (chuckle)
Lisa: I forgot. It is several pages back. Come on you Wallace fans, follow up on this! (laugh)
Wallace: How come they ask this…. I don’t have girlfriend right now.
Lisa: But you have worked with so many beautiful actresses. Will you set a high standard for your girlfriend?
Wallace: It’s OK. Beautiful actresses are just my colleagues. In my private life I want her to be simpler, not necessarily a pretty girl.
Lisa: How about other actresses?
Wallace: I won’t reject that idea, as long as we get along with each other and have a common language.
Lisa: Having a common language… so you prefer someone also in the show business?
Wallace: I know more people in the show business, but that’s not necessarily the case for my girlfriend.
Lisa: And most of your friends are also in the show business?
Wallace: They come from both, showbiz and non-showbiz. Of course more of them are in this business. (smile)
Lisa: Some fans ask about KTV. What will you sing at KTV?
Wallace: some old songs, not particularly which singer’s songs. I sing whatever I want.
Lisa: Will you sing songs from your own CD?
Wallace: You are kidding me? Who will do that? (laugh)
Lisa: A lot of people do. If your friends order those songs for you to sing…
Wallace: I will interrupt it. There had been a couple of times that I sang a bit and then cut it. (laugh)
Lisa: You don’t do your friends a favor. (laugh)
Wallace: I do them a 50% favor. (laugh) I do them a favor, and who is going to do me a favor? (laugh)
Lisa: Will you watch your own TV?
Wallace: No.
Lisa: You feel embarrassed?
Wallace: I am not used to watching it. I will switch channels when I am not satisfied with it. If I am happy with my acting, I will try to watch for a bit longer. (laugh)
Lisa: You have more interactions with your fans recently. What is the reason that you make such a change?
Wallace: In the past I focused on acting only, because I had to. Now I have accumulated more experience and am able to put part of my energy on something else.
Lisa: Like what?
Wallace: Like this chat room interview.
Lisa: But this is part of your work. How about your personal life?
Wallace: Now I can do more interviews and photography.
Lisa: You were not willing to do these in the past?
Wallace: It is not like that. My schedule was super tight, around the clock for the whole week. I was too exhausted to do anything else.
Lisa: When you look back, will you be scared? Or you think you learn a lot from it?
Wallace: I learned a lot, although I paid for it. I don’t know how I survived that tough filming.
Lisa: So this is a huge psycho trauma.
Wallace: I don’t know how I could survive that situation when I made Wu Shi Lan with Miriam.
Lisa: Is it on TV right now?
Wallace: I don’t know, perhaps.
Lisa: You have a couple of works waiting to be broadcasted. We should be able to see you in a lot of channels.
Wallace: I think so.
Lisa: Would you like to have a long vacation, going on a trip for one or two months?
Wallace: Not yet, not right now.
Lisa: Oh my goodness, you don’t think you are exhausted enough. (laugh) Some actors work half of the year and play the other half off. You Taiwanese actors are tough. (laugh)
Wallace: Born to be in a tough life, I can’t help it. (laugh)
Lisa: If you have two months for vacation, what will you do?
Wallace: I never think about it. Two months is too long for me. I can only have vacation for one month at most, then I will start craving for acting. (laugh)
Lisa: Oh my God, you are crazy. What will you do for leisure time? Singing KTV?
Wallace: Exercise, hangout with my friends.
Lisa: A lot of friends?
Wallace: one or two friends, usually.
Lisa: Gosh….which friends do you have more, guys or girls?
Wallace: Guys.
Lisa: What kind of persons will you become friends with?
Wallace: Quiet people.
Lisa: All quiet people, wouldn’t that be no fun at all?
Wallace: I don’t like noisy guys.
Lisa: So you are quiet when you are not familiar with the situation?
Wallace: That’s right.
Lisa: No wonder comedy is a big breakthrough for you.
Wallace: Exactly.
Lisa: You fans ask whether you will come to Beijing recently…. We are in Beijing right now. (laugh) Will you get gifts from your fans when they visit your filming studio?
Wallace: No. I have made it clear that I don’t want any gift.
Lisa: But they want to show their fondness of you…
Wallace: They can just write me something, I will be very happy.
Lisa: What kind of music do you like?
Wallace: A lot of them.
Lisa: Do you have a favorite singer?
Wallace: Andy Hui Chih-Ong from Hong Kong, I like his vocal very much.
Lisa: How about Andy Lau? You like to mock him when you were student.
Wallace: Not mocking him really. His music was so popular when we were in school, and it was impossible not to listen to it. Everybody wants to be like him.
Lisa: Because he was cool, and you wanted to be cool too?
Wallace: Not like that.
Lisa: What’s your idol then?
Wallace: I didn’t have an idol, Andy Lau perhaps. Everybody was crazy for him.
Lisa: Had you pursued any girls when you were in high school?
Wallace: Never.
Lisa: Then I think the girls pursued you! (laugh) Was there any crazy thing, or they just wrote you love letters?
Wallace: Just love letters.
Lisa: How many letters did you get, at one time?
Wallace: I had no idea.
Lisa: Handsome guys are good at pursuing girls. Do you have any tips?
Wallace: No, I don’t. (laugh)
Lisa: Will you tell her if you meet someone you really like? Will you make the first move?
Wallace: Now I will. In the past I didn’t make the first move.
Lisa: Asking for her phone number?
Wallace: Things like that.
Lisa: Your fans are mostly girls, Bad Doll, Clytie, etc. They say your voice sounds like getting sick. They want you to have a good rest.
Wallace: Thanks.
Lisa: Do you spend a lot of time with your family?
Wallace: Very little time together, because my working schedule is very tight. But when I think it is time to take a break, I will go on a vacation with my family.
Lisa: Many fans are from Taiwan and they type in traditional Chinese. Besides Beijing, you have been to a lot of other places too.
Wallace: Probably, yes.
Lisa: Which city do you like most?
Wallace: Hangzhou. It is quiet and relaxed. Of course Shanghai and Beijing are great, but the pace of life there is just fast. We all live on a fast schedule, so I would like to relax in a quiet city.
Lisa: You like quiet places.
Wallace: Yes. I am busy with this and that after waking up every day in the morning…
Lisa: You like it before, or it is because you have a busy life now, and you long for a more relaxed one?
Wallace: I always like the quiet life, and now I love it even better because of my busy work.
Lisa: I am surprised that you worked as a backstage assistant for two years before joining this business. You are so gorgeous and just a big shining star. You must have a hard time then.
Wallace: Life was difficult then, a lot of twists and turns.
Lisa: Like a housekeeper taking care of all the trivial things…
Wallace: Yes, but I also learned a lot.
Lisa: You fans say that you haven’t been in Taiwan for a while, and they want to know when you will leave Beijing?
Wallace: After I finish my work, I will.
Lisa: When is that?
Wallace: I don’t know. I still get something to do here in Beijing.
Lisa: When will your new drama be broadcasted in Taiwan? Is it going to be soon?
Wallace: I don’t really know.
Lisa: You just shoot it and don’t care about the airing.
Wallace: I have no control over the broadcasting!!
Lisa: Would you be eagerly looking forward to the premiere of your TV?
Wallace: I am OK. It is more important to polish my acting. I don’t know when it will be on TV. I can’t do anything about it if they don’t want to broadcast it. (laugh)
Lisa: You seem to have a cold, please take care. You fans ask your departure time from Beijing. They want to meet you at the airport.
Wallace: I don’t know.
Lisa: You don’t want to let them know because you don’t want them to come to the airport?
Wallace: Yes, I am afraid of bursting into tears. (laugh) I don’t know about the time.
Lisa: Is crying scene difficult for you? Will you rely on eye drops?
Wallace: Not difficult. I won’t cry if I cannot make it.
Lisa: But if the director insists on seeing your tears?
Wallace: How should I put this….. I won’t make it a hysterical cry, just with tears in my eyes, it depends on the situation. Sometimes for the emotional scenes, the tears come out when you have that emotion. If not, that’s it, Tears in the eyes are also good.
Lisa: So crying scene is no big deal. How about bed scene?
Wallace: That’s also fine. I can take anything.
Lisa: So you are a master now. (laugh)
Wallace: You are kidding. I just feel I should do whatever the drama needs.
Lisa: And you are looking forward to more rigorous challenges.
Wallace: Maybe, perhaps.
Lisa: There is a big car exhibition in Shanghai, and we want to ask your opinions on behalf of our car specialty.
Wallace: But I don’t know much about car.
Lisa: Really? Do you drive?
Wallace: I do.
Lisa: What is your car?
Wallace: Just an ordinary sedan.
Lisa: Do you like sports car? Any outdoors activity?
Wallace: I do, I exercise when I am working.
Lisa: Then you will like sports car.
Wallace: I like convertible.
Lisa: Is there any funny thing when you drive? For example, falling asleep?
Wallace: That happened. And I even ate my lunch when I drove.
Lisa: How did you do that?
Wallace: Something that I could pick up piece by piece, like potstickers.
Lisa: So you really trained yourself on that. When did you buy your first car?
Wallace: In 2004, I guess.
Lisa: And is it still the same car?
Wallace: Yes.
Lisa: If you would like to buy a new one, what kind of car do you like?
Wallace: I haven’t thought about it. I don’t drive the car right now.
Lisa: Any special models or types of car?
Wallace: I like convertible.
Lisa: You like a cool one or a more practical car?
Wallace: Both. I also like CRV, but it will be better to have it after I have my own family, wife, kids.
Lisa: Are you longing for a family right now?
Wallace: Yes, I do. I like the idea of seeing my family at home after one day’s hard work. I am expecting that, but it is still too early for me right now.
Lisa: Not early, you can try when you meet someone you really like.
Wallace: Of course.
Lisa: Would you mind having love affairs with your partners in the TV? Taiwanese paparazzi are incredible.
Wallace: It is not a matter of minding or not. I don’t think there is any actor who likes to be in this kind of love affairs when it is not truth.
Lisa: Your fans ask when you will come to Shanghai again. You just left Shanghai yesterday.
Wallace: I spent a lot of time in Shanghai, including my last drama.
Lisa: Your fans want to see you in fashion magazines.
Wallace: No problem.
Lisa: You just said that you won’t have your own blog or post your pictures on the website. After we have talked so much here, would you like to give it a try?
Wallace: No.
Lisa: So you don’t leave message very often on your website?
Wallace: No. I just want everyday to be happy and fruitful.
Lisa: Let’s take a look at your fans questions. Have you been to Yun-nan before?
Wallace: Yun-Nan is beautiful, but I don’t have a chance to go there. Maybe I will in the future, I think.
Lisa: Do you plan to make any movies recently?
Wallace: Not recently, I am focusing on TV right now.
Lisa: A lot of fans want you to move your career back to Taiwan. Do you think that will be better?
Wallace: I really don’t know.
Lisa: When you hear that your drama is just an idol series and there is nothing more than looking cool and gorgeous, will you get mad?
Wallace: No.
Lisa: Some actors pick scripts that are very different from themselves.
Wallace: My early works were idol series, but later ones are not. They are dramas, having a lot to say, including my partners, they are all real actors, not just idols. I am an actor myself.
Lisa: Is there any actor that you admire very much or want to work with? Not only those whom you had worked with before.
Wallace: Among my partners, I admire Sun Li very much.
Lisa: How about those whom you haven’t had a chance to work with?
Wallace: I have worked with those whom I admire, like Shu Qi and Sun Li.
Lisa: You lucky boy. Do you like to go to the movies?
Wallace: Yes. I like more relaxing ones.
Lisa: You mean comedy?
Wallace: Romance, comedy, etc.
Lisa: I think most guys like war or violence movies?
Wallace: I don’t. Sometimes I learn from those hardcore movies, but I like relaxing ones when I am exhausted after a long day’s work.
Lisa: Would you compare yourself to the actor in the movie when you watch it, for example, imagine you are in that character?
Wallace: I will.
Lisa: And will you think that guy did a bad job?
Wallace: I won’t. I will try to put myself in that character, but everyone has his own style.
Lisa: You said that you wanted to play a psychotic role before?
Wallace: Yes.
Lisa: Why? You have more freedom?
Wallace: Yes. In Wu Shi Lan I played such a role, and was sent into the sanitarium.
Lisa: And what else? What’s the most unexpected part of it?
Wallace: I played a baby with this old face!
Lisa: Are you and Ruby Lin good friends?
Wallace: Yes, we are good friends.
Lisa: Talking to each other very often?
Wallace: When we have time, yes. But now both of us are quite busy. When we have time we will meet and hang out.
Lisa: You also have fans in the US and in Canada.
Wallace: Thanks.
Lisa: That’s fantastic. There are still a lot of questions. Will you write something on your website?
Wallace: Yes.
Lisa: Your fans want you to leave messages more often.
Wallace: More often? I won’t write until I have accumulated some ideas and crystallize my thoughts. I don’t write diary-like stuff. There isn’t that much to say everyday. “I have noodle soup today.” ”I have iced latte.” “I peed three times tonight.” (laugh) That’s ridiculous.
Lisa: Many people write ridiculous things. (laugh) Will you have fans meeting in Beijing? Not an online chat room but a live one.
Wallace: Not now.
Lisa: They hope you have one next time.
Wallace: No problem.
Lisa: Your fans like to see you playing basketball.
Wallace: It depends. Do you mean TV dramas about basketball? It is difficult….maybe in the future there will be a chance.
Lisa: You are too slim and don’t look like a sports guy.
Wallace: Really? There are slim sports players too.
Lisa: Fat guys can also do sports movies…
Wallace: Like SUMO? (laugh)
Lisa: You fans said that they love diary-like crap.
Wallace: My god, they are insane. (laugh)
Lisa: Will you have a fans meeting for your birthday?
Wallace: We are thinking about it, a fans meeting this year or early next year.
Lisa: Will you be working in China for most of this year?
Wallace: Yes.
Lisa: Will you go to somewhere else?
Wallace: Maybe, should be.
Lisa: And will you walk around in different cities?
Wallace: I do. I like to explore different things.
Lisa: I got an idea. You can write a traveler’s diary.
Wallace: You keep making me write this and write that. You should write it for me! (laugh)
Lisa: Let me be your assistant and work for you.
Wallace: I cannot afford your salary! (laugh)
Lisa: Ok, we are running out of our time. You are going back to Taiwan when you finish your work here.
Wallace: Yes.
Lisa: Be sure to come again next time you are in Beijing.
Wallace: No problem.
Lisa: Thank you, Wallace.
Wallace: Thank you, thanks everybody.
