Unfortunately, Chinese & English are such different languages that it's very difficult to learn one after the other. American actress Mira Sorvino (Replacement Killers w. Chow YunFat) once said she wanted to do well in Chinese so she moved to China to immerse herself. She graduated from Harvad majoring in East Asian studies. When I was in college, one of my classmates in Chinese class saved up every penny she earned to visit China every 2 years, or whenever she had enough to travel. Now that's what I call determination. Or maybe a true sinophile? |

Wow... indeed the best place to learn Chinese is in China because people there have limited English skill. Places such as Singapore and Hong Kong basically you don't need to know any Chinese to get by. The most difficulty about Chinese is because you can't pronounce it like English. You just have to memorize all the graphics. |

Lucky people! But then they must have spent a lot of time on doing the pictures. Gifts are beautiful! |
